No I never drove. I could see a bit as a child but never enough to drive. I once drove round a big carpark to know what it was like but that is all. Still I keep up with the roads we used to go on when I’m listening to the travel reports. Love emma

I know but your gas charge is for a gallon about what we pay for a
litre which is a fifth of that. They are talking about bringing in new
charges for roads as you don’t have to pay car tax on electric cars
and apparently a lot of people are buying those. You can’t win, can
you? The government tells you to buy them and then you are in trouble
for doing it. We haven’t got one yet as I don’t think the brand we
drive does one. We keep to the same brand as the garage that supplies
our car paid by my disabled benefit isn’t too far away and the other
ones are a long way away and hard to get to and you have to take the
car for servicing every year so it would be a real pain. Love emma

My goodness you must have a lot of room. Only the very big roads
round London have eight lanes. Just wondering who pays for the upkeep
of those roads? It comes out of the road taxes here but they are
saying that too many people are using electric cars now that you
don’t need to pay road tax for so the government is thinking of a
different way to pay for them. This is one road that has a toll on so
I guess they will bring that in. Love emma

My goodness the states re so big. Are your roads good? There is a
lot of roadworks and hold-ups on our major roads. It is only about
three hundred miles from us to London but it took my brother seven
and a half hours the other day when they took my nephew to try to do
his internship. Strangely it didn’t work out which was aa bit of a
blessing as they could sort out my niece’s flat trouble for her and
my nephew could do his interview quietly home here and he got the
job which we are very happy about. Love emma

What kind of a farm did you live on? We lived on a fruit farm
which grew apples, pears, raspberries and strawberries. Now we
live in mid Wales which is mainly sheep country which is a bit
crazy as we are vegetarians. Still at least we can look at the
little lambs and know they aren’t ending up in our pot! Our
neighbour grazes his sheep on our land and the rest which is
about four acres is rough garden. We have a river and a pound and
a lovely hill which is covered with bluebells in the spring.
